2018 Nissan Vehicle Awards
As 2018 gradually draws toward a close, it’s a great time to look back at the year as a whole. For Nissan, that means giving a head-nod to the bevy of accolades its models have received. Here are just a few awards that this brand has accumulated during 2018.
AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards
Nissan took home the most best-in category awards out of all of the manufacturers at this year’s Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA). The VSA evaluates responses from 58,000 owners of new 2017 and 2018 light trucks and cars nationwide, based on 40 criteria, to recognize those with high ratings for customer satisfaction. The Maxima and Murano gleaned praise from AutoPacific President George Peterson, who referred to the two models as “unbeatable since their redesigns.”
J.D. Power Awards
The Frontier, Altima, and Maxima won the J.D. Power initial quality awards for their respective segments this year. This award evaluates vehicles based on which models have the fewest problems during the first 90 days of ownership, as reported by 100 car owners nationwide. The Nissan Maxima also secured the J.D. Power performance award for the large car segment. This accolade recognizes new models with the highest ratings for performance and design based on the first 90 days of ownership.
Nissan LEAF name 2018 World Green Car
Earlier this year at the 2018 New York International Auto Show, the Nissan LEAF gleaned the 2018 World Green Car title. It was the first all-electric vehicle to win the award since the 2016 when the category first emerged. The award itself evaluates entries for their overall environmental impact, which includes fuel consumption and tailpipe emissions. Some of the eco-friendly features of the 2018 LEAF include e-Pedal, automatic emergency braking and ProPILOT Assist. The model also boasts a fresh design and a more extensive range.
