Tips for safe driving in heavy rains
We must point out that we don’t encourage you to drive in this impending weather unless you absolutely have to. If you’re evacuating, we’ve included a list of routes out of Brevard County, and we have a few tips for you to stay safe.
- Drive slow. With it about to downpour, every road is going to be slippery and dangerous. To avoid hydroplaning, make sure to lay off the throttle a little. A faster speed isn’t worth it if you put yourself at a higher risk for danger.
- Make sure your windshield wipers are fresh. If you need a quick replacement, by all means, come see us and we can get you outfitted with brand new wipers. It may seem like a simple thing but new and functional windshield wipers greatly improve visibility and can help you spot potential threats on the road more easily.
- Be prepared if you get trapped. Anytime there’s a disastrous event about to happen it’s essential that you have the proper supplies with you should you become stuck on the road. Make sure to pack plenty of food and water, and have a first aid kit if you can to keep yourself alive.
